Trust at Automotif
Seller listings on Automotif cannot go live without the four required engine uploads. We check the files and duration before publication. This is an evidence requirement, not a guarantee of condition or ownership. Sample listings are clearly labelled and excluded.
Listing badges
Every uploaded photo has current seller approval and all essential guided positions are present. This is seller sign-off, not an independent photo or condition review.
The seller supplied private ownership paperwork, a finance declaration and service log status. No independent identity or title verification is implied. Buyers cannot access the documents.
A marque category for selected luxury, performance and specialist car and motorcycle brands. It does not certify this vehicle's value, condition, authenticity or ownership.
Badges appear only when the listing meets that badge's rule. Sample listings do not receive them. Ownership is not shown as verified because an independent title check is not connected.
Aston Martin, Bentley, BMW, Bugatti, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lexus, Maserati, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Bimota, Brough Superior, Ducati, MV Agusta. The category comes from the seller-entered marque, not an inspection or a price threshold.
01 · The physical possession gate
Before publication, the seller must provide four unedited clips of the actual vehicle, with sound. Missing kinds, missing stored files, duplicate files or short durations prevent publication. Sellers remain responsible for the truth of their recordings; the upload check cannot establish physical possession or detect every misleading clip.
At least five seconds. The seller records the engine changing from off to running.
At least ten seconds at rest, with the engine sound audible.
A gentle throttle input. Exhaust note and response, on camera.
The instrument cluster at ignition. Warning lights are shown, not cropped out.
The gate is enforced when a seller listing is created or updated as live. Incomplete submissions stay in draft and can be corrected. Sample listings are not evidence of this check.
What it costs
Classifieds charge you upfront whether the car sells or not. Free marketplaces cost you weekends of no-shows and scam messages. Here, listing is free, buyers commit with a deposit, and a small success fee comes out only once the money is yours. You see the exact figure the moment you set your price.
Contact details stay private until a deposit secures the vehicle, so every deal stays protected start to finish.
Typical classifieds, paid upfront
$160
Charged even if it never sells
Free marketplaces

Automotif, only once it sells

At this price the success fee is $120 above one upfront ad, but you pay it only after the buyer’s money settles, with deposit-backed buyers and private contact details included.
Success fee: 0.8% on the first $100,000, 0.25% above. Buyers pay a flat $49 protection pass. Classified prices are indicative estimates of typical private ad packages and may differ from current pricing. Full comparison
02 · The verification process
Before a listing goes live the seller uploads proof of ownership (rego certificate, bill of sale, dealer invoice or company authority), states whether finance is owing, records their service log status and declares they can sell it. The paperwork stays private and is kept for disputes. Buyers see only that it was supplied. It is not an independent title check, which is why the PPSR sits alongside it.
Rego and VIN are captured at listing and held privately. They are never published, and only the seller can see them.
In-app checks and new payments are unavailable until a real provider is connected and tested. The planned price depends on confirmed provider charges. Previous paid requests remain pending. Only received provider results can be shown as checked; pending or failed results are never shown as clear.
Sellers upload four clips or one unbroken One Take walk around of 60 to 180 seconds. The system checks the kinds, distinct stored video files and their stated duration. Missing files or short clips block publication. The badge reports this upload check, not verified engine condition or authenticity.
Sixteen set positions, including the rear seat view forward and the sunroof, shot the same way on every vehicle. AI may improve lighting and backgrounds, but never hides damage, and originals stay one tap away.
Service history, owners and known faults are labelled as the seller's own statements. These are not presented as independently reviewed facts.
03 · When a listing doesn't make the cut
A rejected listing is invisible to buyers. It does not appear in search, collections or anywhere else on the site.
We name the specific gap, such as a missing engine clip or an unreadable photo, so it can be fixed rather than guessed at.
Rejection is not a ban. Once the gap is fixed, the listing goes through the same checks again, from the start.
Engine clips cannot be removed or replaced on a live seller listing. The seller must return it to draft first; publication then runs the same checks again.
The four-clip badge means all required engine uploads passed file checks. Watch the recordings and arrange an independent inspection.
Every seller faces the same upload requirement. Missing evidence keeps your listing out of search until you fix it.
Verified and seller-supplied information are always labelled separately, so you know exactly what was checked and what was stated.
Verification confirms what was evidenced at listing time. It is not a mechanical inspection or a guarantee of condition, and we say so plainly on every listing.
